Armchair Fundraising
How You Can Help Rod Kelley Raise Money for Students
Parents, teachers and the general community can help raise money for Rod Kelley Elementary by doing the things they do and purchasing the things they already purchase every day with these programs. It’s like Armchair Quarterbacking – make the calls and deliver the ball without getting hit or participating in grueling practices. It’s that simple. It’s Armchair Fundraising. We’re not asking you to sign up or do things you don’t already do. Just do a little extra to make the things you do count for Rod Kelley. See how easy it is with the programs below. You can make a difference!
Box Tops for Education – Clip box tops from hundreds of products - like cereal, diapers, Kleenex, zip lock bags and many more to earn cash for our school. Each box top is worth 10¢ to our school. In the past, just the kindergartners participated in this program and now we are making it a school-wide program. It’s easy, just clip the label that looks like the picture here and turn them in to your teacher or put them in the RKPC Box in the main office. While we will be collecting the Box Tops throughout the year, the first deadline is Oct. 24, 2008. The class that turns in the most by the first deadline of will each earn one High Five! Get grandparents, friends and neighbors to help!
Labels for Education™ - For more than 30 years, the program has been awarding free educational equipment to schools in exchange for proofs of purchase from the Campbell family of brands. It’s a fun, easy program where students, families and members of the community work together for a common goal. It’s easy, just clip the label that looks like the picture here and turn them in to your teacher or put them in the RKPC Box in the main office.
School Pulse - www.SchoolPulse.com is a site for parents and teachers to organize and discuss topics relevant to their school. It’s basically a social networking site. However, they are running a contest where qualified schools can win $1,000. To qualify we have to register 100 parents, teachers or friends of Rod Kelley – that shouldn’t be tough since we have nearly 900 students. Plus we will get $1 for every parent, teacher or friend that signs up. This is easy money. So please sign up – they won’t send you anything if you don’t want to receive anything and you need never go back to the site. Pass this on so we can get 100 parents, teachers or friends signed up by the deadline which is Nov. 1!
Through “A Day Made Better” OfficeMax is campaigning to eliminate “teacher-funded” classrooms.
You can help by taking the “Adopt-A-Classroom Challenge.”
The Challenge is to raise the most amount of money in classroom adoptions by December 31, 2008. The school that raises the most will receive an $15,000 from Adopt-A-Classroom. Second place will receive $10,000. Third place will receive $5,000. Rod Kelley is the only participating school in South County, so everyone can help the Knights win this challenge even if their child attends another school.
To Adopt-A-Classroom fill out a donation card and mail it in. While it’s not required to list a specific teacher to adopt a classroom, a list of teachers is available on the school web site. Donation cards are available here, in the main office at Rod Kelley, or by visiting www.adoptaclassroom.org.
eScrip – This is a simple, year-round fundraising activity where participating business partners contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty cards, credit card, and debit/ATM card purchases to Rod Kelley (Group ID# 136556438). Here's How it Works

eScrip Recycling – Another low effort, no cost fundraiser that helps the environment and earns money for Rod Kelley Elementary (Group ID# 136556438). Recycle inkjets, laser/toner cartridges, cell phones, IPods and laptops. Simply drop off your items in the green box in the main office (available soon) and RKPC will take care of the rest.
Schoolpop – Similar to eScrip, this program offers a school funding program to help academic institutions and their students advance educational efforts. Unlike typical school fundraisers, students aren't required to sell products or find people to support them. Instead, financial support comes from people purchasing the everyday products they would normally buy anyway.
One of the leading school fundraising companies, Schoolpop helps people support Rod Kelley as they make their everyday purchases: As they shop at their favorite stores through Schoolpop, a percentage of every purchase goes to the school of their choice.
Some of the largest name-brand stores participate in our school fundraising program, including Target.com, L.L.Bean and Walmart.com. Supporters can even save money as they earn contributions by using special online coupons and deals through Schoolpop. Sign up at www.schoolpop.com.
Target REDcard – By using your Target Visa card (good anywhere Visa is accepted), Target Card (good only at Target.com and at Target stores) or Target Check Card (good only at Target stores), 1% of your purchases are donated to Rod Kelley. But you must enroll online at Target and enter Rod Kelley’s ID# 31493 so the Target donation will be sent to the school.
WaMoola for Schools® - With enrollment in the WaMoola for Schools program, your Washington Mutual Debit MasterCard® purchases can
benefit Rod Kelley. There's no cost to you to enroll, Washington Mutual makes the donation, and Rod Kelley gets cash — with no strings! It's a great way to make a difference. To enroll your existing debit card in the program, please go to your local WaMu branch. (This is still available despite the current issues with Washington Mutual.)
